China-EU Industrial Innovation Zone launched in Wuxi City

The China-EU Industrial Innovation Zone was launched in Wuxi City on November 8, aiming to foster cooperation in science and technology, education and industrial park development.

Located in the Meicun area of the Wuxi High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the park has a planning area of 24.5 square kilometers and will be committed to intelligent equipment, automotive parts manufacturing and new energy.

The inauguration follows closer cooperation between Wuxi and European entities. In recent years, European enterprises like AstraZeneca, Bosch and Siemens have invested in Wuxi while freight train services and cargo flights from Wuxi have also advanced economic and trade relations with Europe.

To date, the Wuxi High-Tech Industrial Development Zone has collaborated extensively with 166 companies from Germany, France, Poland, the Netherlands and Sweden.

The opening ceremony also unveiled the EU Project Innovation Center (Wuxi), the Fraunhofer Sino-German (Wuxi) Innovation Center and the EU-China Vaccine Research & Industry Collaboration Center. Moreover, the event witnessed the signing of 28 industrial projects in sectors including the Internet of Things, ICs, high-end equipment and automotive parts.
