The 2023 China-Europe Offshore Renewables Development & Cooperation Forum (CEORF) opened in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province on November 21.

The forum released a joint declaration, and witnessed the signing of 25 major projects with a total investment of 29.48 billion yuan.

Under the theme ¡°Strengthen China-Europe Cooperation on Offshore Renewables for a Shared Green Future,¡± the forum was co-organized by the China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China and the Yancheng Municipal People¡¯s Government.

2023 marks the fourth year since the launch of the China-EU Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation Platform. Offshore renewable energy, involving technological innovation and application in fields of offshore wind power, solar power, and energy hub, is one of the most promising areas for cooperation between the two sides.

Yancheng boasts unique resources for offshore renewable energy development, with a total offshore wind power and solar power capacity of 60GW. Notably, eight of the top 10 solar power companies have invested in Yancheng, making it China¡¯s leading producer of silicon, PV cells and modules.

The city has engaged in extensive cooperation with partners in France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and other European countries in resource development, equipment manufacturing, technological innovation and personnel exchanges.
